Maclaren is recalling at least 1 million umbrella strollers because of a side hinge that can potentially injure children. This mechanism can cut the fingers of children when these strollers are being opened or closed.
In the past ten years, there were about fifteen incidents of children getting hurt because of this. The models that have this faulty mechanism are Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
According to msnbc, Maclaren and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) are providing consumers in the US with free repair kits which will help them cover the faulty mechanism.
If you own any umbrella strollers by Maclaren, you should stop using them.
