Do you let your child play with kids who have parents that you don't like?

The IbrahimsWe recently ran a poll on Facebook asking our fellow Parents if they would let their child play with other kids who have parents whom they may not like. 20 parents responded and what can we say, except that parents seem very accommodating and don’t allow their own judgments to cloud their kid’s fun!

Overall, 17 parents said yes. 2 parents said maybe and only 1 parent said no. The parent who said no simply explained that, “Monkey see monkey do. If the kid is nice then it is still okay, but stilll, better avoid before any bad habits are picked up.” Most generally agreed, however, that they would most probably allow their children to play with the others, but you wouldn’t find them trying to make conversation with the disagreeable parent!

What about the rest of you? Do you let your child play with kids who have parents that you don’t like?

It would depend on why I didn’t like the parents. Actually this never came up when my daughter was a child, she played with other kids, their parents were different from us but OK. But I don’t think it would be a good idea to let a child play with kids whose parents are child abusers or drug addicts or criminally insane. But if they have different views or opinions to us I’d encourage it. I think it’s good for children of different backgrounds to mix and play together.
