Induced Labour May Not Be A Very Good Idea
If you’re getting impatient and planning to have an induced labour, you might want to think twice before you decide on having one. According to experts, induced labour poses the risk of Caesarean operation, a more expensive way of giving birth. C-sections also pose a higher risk for infection, bleeding, blood clots and injury to the organs. Although, the ratio is quite low, 2 for every 25 inductions, there is still a possibility that you could be one of the two.
According to a report by NDTV, experts advise mothers and doctors to just wait for labour to come naturally and reserve interventions only for cases where benefits far outweigh the risks. Mothers who have diabetes and high blood pressure are ideal candidates for having an induced labour. Also, when a baby is not growing properly or the mother is ten days past her due date, an induced labour can be seriously considered.
Have you tried having an induced labour before? Did you end getting a C-section? Was it worth the risk?
