Plastic Baby Bottles May Be Harmful for Your Baby
If you use a plastic baby bottle for feeding your child, then you have to read this. British scientists recently announced that plastic baby bottles that contain the chemical bisphenol-A or BPA poses harmful health risks for babies as it can leak out into the formula or drinking water. Countries such as the United States, Canada and France have already banned these bottles while Australia and Britain are pressured to remove them from supermarkets and retailers.
BPA is one of the most common chemicals that is used for making plastic and other items such as compact disks and credit card receipts. It has already sparked a number of debates as to how it actually affects humans especially children. According to some experts, this chemical can stunt development in children. Also, it can cause early onset of puberty and trigger obesity. In adults, it is linked with cardiovascular disease and thyroid disorder.
Due to these results, some manufacturers have started producing products, particularly baby bottles, without BPA. Although, some researchers say that there is no conclusive evidence that shows how BPA affects human health. Well, just to be on the safe side, avoid using bottles that contain this “controversial chemical”. Bottles with #7 or PC contain BPA.
