Privacy policy

There's no account on this site, and what you type into the tools stays in your browser. This page sets out what we collect, what we don't, and who else your browser talks to.

In short

in.theasianparent.com is the India edition of theAsianparent, part of the Tickled Media group.

There's no account here and no login. You don't need to register to read an article or use a tool.

Nothing you enter into our tools — due date, ovulation, vaccination, growth, contraction timer, feed and nappy tracker, teething chart, name search, baby cost — is sent to our servers. It's held in your own browser, in localStorage.

Articles you save and the record of what you've read work the same way. Clear your browser data and they're gone.

The contact form is the only place you hand us anything directly. Nowhere else do we ask you for personal details.

Since 1 October 2026 we've used Netcore Smartech to measure which articles get read, and to send browser notifications to readers who ask for them. It doesn't know your name.

The contact form

The name, email address, reason for writing and message you give on the contact page are all that reach us.

They're used to reply to you and to deal with whatever you raised. We don't sell them, hand them to advertisers, or add you to a marketing list.

The form doesn't ask for more than it needs. You don't have to write your medical details or your child's details into it, and please don't.

Two simple measures keep automated spam out: a field hidden from people, and a limit on how many forms one internet address can send in a short period. Your IP address is used briefly for that, and for nothing else.

If you want your message deleted, write to us and we'll delete it.

Analytics and notifications

On 1 October 2026 we added Netcore Smartech, an Indian customer-engagement platform, to this site. It does two things here.

Measurement. It records which pages are opened, roughly which part of the world the request came from, and which browser and device, so we can see which articles get read and which get ignored. It gives your browser a random identifier and keeps it in a cookie. That identifier isn't a name, an email address or a phone number, and there's nothing for us to attach one to, because this site has no login.

Notifications. If you allow it, we can send a browser notification when we publish something new. Your browser asks you first, and we can't send anything until you agree. To stop them, turn notifications off for in.theasianparent.com in your browser's site settings, or in your phone's notification settings. You don't need to tell us.

Netcore handles this on our behalf, under contract. They don't get to sell it or use it for their own purposes.

If you'd rather not be counted, a tracker blocker or your browser's blocking setting will stop the script loading, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Third parties we can't avoid

No website runs on its own. Since we'd rather be straight with you, here's where your browser reaches out to.

The site runs with a hosting provider. As with every website, it keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time. Those keep the site running, show us errors, and stop attacks.

The page's typefaces come from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is visible to Google for that request. Images come from a content delivery network.

Apart from Netcore Smartech above, no advertising network runs on this site.

The site links out: to the awards site, our social pages, Google's 'preferred source' setting. Click those and the policies of those sites apply instead. We're not responsible for them.

Children's information

This site is for parents, not for children. We don't set out to collect anything from a child.

You can enter a child's date of birth, weight or height into our tools. Those stay in your browser. They aren't sent to us and we don't store them.

If you think we've somehow ended up holding a child's information, tell us through the contact page. We'll check and delete it.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have rights: to ask what we hold about you, to have a mistake corrected, to have it deleted, and to complain.

A message you sent through the contact form is something we can show you or delete directly. Write to us and we'll do it.

If you want the page views held against your browser identifier in Netcore deleted, ask through the contact page and we'll have them removed.

What you put into the tools you can clear yourself at any time. Every tool has a button to wipe it and start again, and clearing your browser data removes all of it.

Reach us through the contact page for any request. The group data protection officer's details are on the theAsianparent group privacy policy page.

Changes

This site is still growing. When tools are added, or the way the site works changes, this page gets updated.

1 October 2026 — Netcore Smartech added for analytics and browser notifications. An earlier version of this page said no behaviour-measurement tools ran here, and that this page would be updated before one was added. In practice the tool went live first and this page followed later the same day. We're recording that rather than quietly rewriting it.

This policy is read under Indian law. Other theAsianparent group services, such as the community app and the other country editions, have their own policies.
